Clopton Christmas Party
The Christmas Party on Saturday 8th December at the village hall was a very enjoyable, fun get-together. The live music was provided by Peter Day on keyboards and Tony Dockerill, who played a mean sax.
As well as music and dancing, Peter and Jean had arranged several party games for all ages to enjoy. These included, amongst others, a dance knockout, roll-the-potato, a music-based quiz and a game of pass the parcel, which became faster and more frantic as guests began to realise that some layers contained forfeits.
There were many donations of delicious food and a special mention must go to the sausage rolls, which disappeared with indecent speed. The evening wound down with the raffle prizes being awarded and we were played out by Peter and Tony.
Funds raised for the Church Bell Tower Appeal have yet to be confirmed, but were around £225.
This was a very enjoyable party, which, it is hoped, will be repeated next year. A special thanks must go to Jean and Peter who both put in so much work and enthusiasm.
