At the Clopton Parish Council Meeting on 20th September 2012, the council discussed the latest developments concerning the proposed Wildlife Area.
The proposed area is around the pond, halfway down "the concrete road" (next to the bus stop near the village hall). The pond was originally dug as a reservoir for farm use by Mr Taylor, but he is willing to consider it for a wildlife area complete with bench-seat.
Suffolk Wildlife Trust ( http://www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org/ ) have been consulted about the site and their representative was of the opinion that it could be turned into a wildlife area quite easily. It was suggested that Otley College be approached for help and as a project for some of their students.
Several residents have expressed a willingness to be involved in the wildlife area project. If you are one of them, send your details to news@cloptonvillage.co.uk and we will keep you in touch with the project.
