Clopton is a widely spaced village comprised mainly of farmland, around 140 residential homes and small businesses. The arrangement of Clopton's roads means there is no village centre common to all houses. There is a very good village hall with playing field in the village, which gets plenty of bookings (see Village Hall and Whats On) but, for shops and a pub, residents have to go slightly further afield.

Buses - Details of services.  The No.70 bus, which used to serve Clopton was removed from service in 2025. There is currently no bus service.

Royal Mail post collection boxes are situated at:

1) The corner of Rouse Hall Estate and Shop Rd,

2) The corner of Manor Road and Snipe Farm Road.

3) The corner of Grundisburgh Rd (B1079) and Charsfield Rd (B1078)
